We are proud to offer the Rickey Green signature bit line. Rickey’s team roping credentials are astounding. He is an 11-time NFR qualifier and an NFR Champion. In the past 25 years, Rickey has coached thousands of ropers at clinics across the US and Canada. Throughout his career, Rickey has trained seven horses that have been ridden at the NFR, including three PRCA World Championships, four NFR Championships, two BFI Championships, and the USTRC Open Championship. Rickey’s bits were designed for training, practice, or competition and feature a loose-cheek shank to encourage lateral flexion and to allow the rider to control the horse’s nose. Rickey recommends using a firm leather curb strap or flat chain with these bits to allow the horse to feel and work off of the bit rather than react to the feel and pressure of a biting curb.

Rickey's bits were designed for training, practice, and competition and feature a loose-cheek shank to encourage lateral flexion and will allow the rider to control the horse's nose. The pinchless mouthpiece of the Chain mouthpiece is shaped to lay flat across the mouth and tongue, and it attaches to the shank in a manner that softly cues the horse as pressure is applied.
